Growth Groups
Growth Groups are for everyone! Since the very earliest of days of the church, Christians have met in each other's homes to pray, study God's Word, worship, eat together and support each other through good and bad times. It is no different at Heysham FM Church.
Community
At Heysham FM we believe that life is best when we are part of a healthy community. Growth Groups are small communities within the larger community of Heysham FM Church.
Growth
We believe that we are called to be disciples. This requires us to be growing and going deeper in our spiritual journey. At Heysham FM Growth Groups are key to our discipleship.
Word
We desire to step up to call of God on our lives to be like Jesus. We love God's Word - the Bible. We believe the Bible is alive, powerful and transforms lives. We also believe the Bible is the primary way in which we can know God's will for our lives.
For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them - Matthew 18:20
Each Growth Group has 3 objectives
Grow Vertically
Prayer, study, discussion, worship
Grow Horizontally
Food, fun, friendship, practical
support
Grow Numerically
Praying for those who don't yet know Jesus, missionally reaching out, inviting people, multiplication
We call them Growth Groups because we want to grow in our love for God, our love and care for one another and we want to grow numerically as others join Growth Groups and new Growth Groups are formed. Growth Groups last between 1-2hours and you will not be expected to read, pray or share if you don't want to.
We currently have 3 Growth Groups at Heysham FM meeting at different times of the week. We aim to start new groups regularly too!
